Teams needed to compete in dragon boat races

PAWTUCKET - Organizers of the 2014 Pawtucket Arts Festival are calling all teams, businesses, organizations and others to participate in the fun and excitement of the annual Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races and Taiwan Day Festival, set to happen on the Seekonk River Sept. 6.

Teams are welcome to be part of two competitive events that are part of the day-long public festival. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races, come and compete for a cash prize of $10,000, the largest ever in the festival, and a $5,000 Rhode Island prize. Also returning to the festival is the Chinese Dumpling Eating Contest, a competitive eating event, with the winner receiving a trip to Taipei-Taiwan, courtesy of Eva Air Chinese Airways.
