Pawtucket Parks and Rec offers free summer performances

PAWTUCKET - The Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Division is hosting a number of free summer performances through Aug. 22, weather permitting. All events begin at 6 p.m. and are open to the public.

Six more children's performances will be held at Slater Memorial Park every Tuesday evening with the following performers: July 16, T-Bone; July 23, Rock-a-Baby; July 30, Lon Cerel; Aug. 6, Toe Jam Puppet Band; Aug. 13, Bill Harley; and Aug. 20, Tommy James Magic Shows.

All shows take place at the stage between the Slater Park office and the historic Daggett House. The Looff carousel will remain open until 8 p.m. through the summer during these performances only.

Thursday evenings bring the Free Summer Music Series in the Park at the stage located in front of Daggett Farm. This year's remaining lineup is: July 18, John Connors and the Irish Express; July 25, Terri Giviens; Aug. 1, Rhode Island Rednecks; Aug. 8, the Jesse Liam Band; Aug. 15, Deluxe Edition; and Aug. 22, Down City Band. Concessions are available.

Every Sunday night offers a variety of free musical performances at the Veterans' Amphitheatre at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Exchange Street, adjacent to Pawtucket City Hall. The lineup is: the Rockin' Soul Horns; July 21, Joe's Backyard; July 28, the Dixie Diehards; Aug. 4, Arthur Medeiros Swing Band; Aug. 11, Dick & Dave's Rockin' Oldies; and Aug. 18, Aurea Ensemble.
