Baseball Hall of Fame concert canceled

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. – The Aug. 2 concert originally scheduled to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame has been canceled, event organizers announced last week.

The decision was made by Los Angeles-based LGH19 Productions, the event producer organizing the show that was to feature Paul Simon, the Boston Pops and Cumberland’s own Joe Silva. No reason has been given.

“We are extremely disappointed in today’s announcement by LGH19 Productions that the concert celebrating the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame has been canceled,” said Jeff Idelson, president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. “We are so thankful for all of those who purchased tickets for the concert with the intent to support the museum and our educational outreach mission in our diamond anniversary salute.”

Those who purchased tickets should visit www.cooperstownconcert.com for more information.
