Enjoy a summer sing-along at the Mancini Center

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center announces the following programs.

The center will welcome Maxine Hutchins, from All is Well Home Care, on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. for a craft project with a purpose. Participants will make their own, re-usable shopping bag using a pillowcase. Participants are asked to bring a pillowcase from home. To register, call 401-231-0742.

A Summer Sing-along with Ken Fraielli will be held Thursday, Aug. 7, at 10:30 a.m.

Meet Carol Desforges, the author of "Behind Closed Doors," on Friday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m. The fictional story is set in the 1950s and '60s and takes place in Rhode Island.¬?Hear the back story from the author. Books will be available for sale and signing.

AARP Smart Driver Program will be offered on Friday, Aug. 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Space is limited. To register call 401-231-0742. The fee is $15 for AARP members (with a red card), or $20 for non-AARP members. The fee includes the new Smart Driver Guidebook and other materials created especially for this program. Arrangements can be made for lunch by calling.

The SMRAC annual picnic will be held Friday, Aug. 22, on SMRAC Grounds. Complimentary coffee and pastry will be served at 10 a.m. Lunch will be at noon. Bingo will begin at 1 p.m. Tickets are $3 and must be purchased in advance at the Nutrition Site.
