Evelyn D. Pimenta, 91, of The Village at Waterman Lake, died Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Riverview Healthcare Community in Coventry. She was the wife of the late Anthony Pimenta.

Born in Smithfield, she was a daughter of the late William and Albina (Favreau) LaCroix. She had lived in Smithfield her whole life.

She had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Our mother lost both of her legs in the fall of 2004. She inspired many with her tenacity and strength, touching the souls of many. We want to thank her friends, family, the medical community and hospice, Charlotte, David and Pam.

She is survived by her children, David W. Pimenta of Brewster, Mass., Charlotte Ogilvie Lee of Buzzards Bay, Mass., and Pamela M. Minakin of Coventry; three grandchildren, Traves Ogilvie and Chad and Emily Minakin; and two great-grandchildren, Karlee and Colby. She was the sister of the late Donald and Winton LaCroix and Flora Lachapelle.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visitation respectfully omitted.
