Lillian Paradise Walsh - Glocester

Lillian (Kelly) Paradise Walsh passed away peacefully on October 22, 2014, four days before turning 88. Born Lillian Anna Kelly on October 27, 1926, in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of Anna Frazier and Everett Kelly.

She was married in 1947 in Centredale, R.I., to Joseph J. Paradise and they made their home in Lincoln, R.I. After Joe’s early passing, Lillian remained in Lincoln, raising their three children into adulthood.

In 1976 she then married John Walsh from South Hadley, Mass., and they made their home in Hadley for many years while enjoying their blended family, which then included children Jim, Joanne, Janice, Jeannine and John as well as their spouses and then the grandchildren that came along.

After John’s retiring, they moved to Chepachet, R.I., on Echo Lake where they enjoyed many more years growing old together. After John’s passing, Lillian resided comfortably with her youngest daughter and husband in Thompson, Conn., where she remained until her death.

For many years, Lillian and John traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad and enjoyed searching for different places to eat throughout New England. The saying went, “If you want to know of a good restaurant, just ask Lillian.”

In her younger years she always had knitting needles in her hand, producing many beautiful sweaters for her children and grandchildren, and also made beautiful quilts by hand until her hands no longer let her.

Lillian was predeceased by her first husband, Joe in 1961, son, Jim in 1990, and second husband, John in 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Ringer (George); daughter, Janice Dutch (Michael); stepson, John Jr. Walsh (Ellie); and stepdaughter, Jeannine Milos (Ray); grandchildren, Leslie Paradise, Dustin Paradise (Shannon), Kristen Fleming (Kevin), Wayne Dutch, Christopher Dutch, Scott Walsh, Lynn Walsh-Blair (Dereck), Matthew Milos (Amanda), Shauna Burdick (Andy), Jeff Becher (Jamie), Allison Sicard (Greg), Logan Becher (Yhordanna); and great-grandchildren, Marley Paradise, Aidan and Lillian Fleming, Madison Dutch, Riley, Jackson and Kelsey Becher, Ryan and Katherine Sicard, Kyrin and Shea Walsh, Laila and Cameron Blair, William and John Burdick, and one baby girl Becher on the way!
