Michael A. Mencucci - Woonsocket

Michael A. “Puzo” Mencucci, 56 of Woonsocket, formerly of Pascoag, died Friday October 17, 2014, at Rhode Island Hospital after being stricken suddenly.

He was the husband of Judith F. (Gagnon) Mencucci to whom he was married for 26 years. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Angelo and Louise (Bileau) Mencucci.

Michael attended local schools and was a proud United States Coast Guard veteran. After serving honorably in the Coast Guard, Michael was employed as a Merchant Marine seaman.

Upon returning home, Michael met and later married his wife Judy and began a new career in the heating and air conditioning industry.

Michael was a member of the Italian Workingmen’s Club. He enjoyed boating and fishing and also was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. Michael was very compassionate and helpful to others.

Besides his wife Judith and his parents, he leaves two children, Nicholas Mencucci of Woonsocket and Alyssa Mencucci of Warwick. He also leaves a brother, Angelo Mencucci and his wife Lisa of Woonsocket; sister, Diana De Broisse and her husband Michael of North Smithfield; and his lifelong friend, Paul R. Carpentier of Woonsocket.

A Christian Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 128 Greene St., Woonsocket, R.I. Calling hours are private. Burial will be at a later date in the Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery.
