Edna K. Duffy - Woonsocket

Edna K. (Mulvey) Duffy, 91, of St. Joseph Street died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, in Trinity Health Center.

She was the wife of the late Edward F. Duffy. Born in Providence, R.I., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Shugrue) Mulvey.

Edna worked as a dental assistant for several years; was in sales for the former McCarthy’s Store; and she was a secretary for the Woonsocket School Department for five years.

She graduated from Woonsocket High School in l941. Edna enjoyed knitting, quilting, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael E. Duffy and his wife Lois, of North Smithfield, R.I., and Mark “Chuck” Duffy of Millville, Mass.; one daughter, Kathleen M. Laplume and her husband Paul of North Smithfield; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Walter Berry and Gladys Danis, and grandmother to the late Michael M. Duffy.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at 11 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church Street, North Smithfield, R.I. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, Mass., at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, from 5-7 P.M. in the S.DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI.
