Depault's in Cumberland recycling paint

CUMBERLAND - Depault Hardware at 2000 Mendon Road is now participating in the state's paint recycling program, joining 28 other locations that accept cans of leftover paint under a program called PaintCare.

Depault's Walter Casper said in a statement, "PaintCare is a phenomenal program for all of Rhode Island that is finally giving customers a way to properly dispose of their unused paint safely and responsibly. We're glad to be a part of it."

All brands of unwanted house paint, stain and varnish are accepted at PaintCare sites, according to the organization, even if the paint is 20 years old. There is no charge for dropping off old paint.

More drop-off spots are:

* Vose True Value Hardware, Woonsocket

* Hanna's Color Center Inc., Pawtucket

* Glidden Professional Paint Center, Pawtucket

* Leeway True Value Inc., North Smithfield

* Greenville Ace Hardware, Greenville
