Clyde E. Rice - Bellingham, Mass.

Clyde E. Rice, 94, of Bellingham, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

Born in Kentucky, he was raised by his parents, Nannie and Leonard Rice in Kenova, W.V., along with his five siblings, Chink, Clarence, Lawrence, Pete, and Ethel, who are deceased. He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Rice, to whom he was married for nearly 71 years. They met in Boston, just before Pearl Harbor.

Clyde was a World War II Navy veteran serving from 1940-1946. He worked for GM Corporation in Framingham for 36 years and was a lifeguard.

Clyde was a faithful attendant of the Faith Community Church in Hopkinton, where he was an usher and supporter of the church. He enjoyed gardening, reading, paint by numbers, jigsaw puzzles, Christmas displays, and loved his family dearly.

He also is survived by two children, Janet Titus and her husband Greg of Woonsocket, and David Rice of Bellingham; and four grandchildren, Eric and his wife Teresa, Andrew, Cherie and Holly.

A graveside committal service was held at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, and a memorial service followed at Faith Community Church. Donations may be made to Faith Community Church, 146 East Main St. Hopkinton, MA 01748.

Arrangements were under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton.
