Souza to take over as CEO at Landmark

WOONSOCKET – The president of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island will leave the position to become the new CEO of Landmark Medical Center.

Michael Souza, who has served previously as senior vice president and vice president of finance for HARI, will begin the new position in Woonsocket on Monday, March 27.

He replaces Richard Charest, who retired as both president and CEO of Landmark on Feb. 17.

“Souza has the expertise and business acumen to take the helm as CEO and president of Landmark Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island,” said Bryan Burklow regional chief operations officer for Landmark’s parent company, Prime Healthcare Services, in a statement. “Both organizations are poised for continued growth and prosperity. We are very pleased that Mike will be joining Prime Healthcare Services as we continue to invest in the Rhode Island community,”

Souza has served as HARI president since 2014. He previously worked at Signature Healthcare in Brockton, Mass., and was once the director of financial planning at Landmark.
