Sandra Elizabeth (Canham) Dixon – Quincy, Mass.

Sandra Elizabeth (Canham) Dixon, 74, of Wollaston, Mass., passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017, at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Mass.

Born on November 12, 1942, in Boston, Sandra grew up in Dedham, Mass. She was the daughter of Kenneth G. and Margaret (Tina) M. Canham and the eldest of four children. She graduated from Dedham High School and married Harry Dixon of Quincy in 1966.

Sandra was born with cerebral palsy but lived her life as though not disabled; never reluctant to pursue any direction she wanted to. She was well liked by those who knew her and relished time with family and friends. She worked for several non-profit organizations over 30 years in Boston and Quincy. She was active in the Wollaston Congregational Church and her assisted living home, Fenno House on Hancock St. in Wollaston, Mass.

She is survived by brothers Kenneth Canham (Lillian) of Doylestow, Pa., Paul Canham (Eileen) of Hudson, Mass., and Richard Canham (Kristen) of DesMoines, Iowa, as well as stepmother, Joan Canham, of Lincoln, R.I., stepbrother, David Canham, of Lincoln R.I., and stepsister, Kathryn Canham, of Midwest City, Okla. There are many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces in Iowa, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Oregon, and Germany.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St., Quincy, Mass., from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 10 a.m., at Wollaston Congregational Church, 46 Winthrop Ave, Quincy, Mass. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Quincy.
