Jeannine B. Mercer – Linwood, Mass.

Jeannine B. (Drolet) Mercer, 84, of Linwood, Mass., passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at her home with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late Arthur G. Mercer who died in 1998.

Jeannine had been a telephone operator with the former Bell Atlantic Telephone Company for many years.

She was born March 8, 1933, in Woonsocket, R.I., the daughter of the late Albert and Medora (Aubin) Drolet and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School, class of 1951.

Jeannine enjoyed time spent with family at home and in Bridgewater, N.H., was a voracious reader and liked playing cards and board games. She took pleasure in traveling, telling jokes, enjoyed singing barbershop music with the Post Road Chorus of Sweet Adelines Intl. for 25 years, and was a volunteer for 15 years with Tri-Valley Elder Services- Meals on Wheels Program. She was also a member of Good Shepherd Church, Linwood.

She is survived by two daughters, Leslie A. McIntyre and her husband, Kenneth, of Whitinsville, Mass., and Heather J. Goodwin and her husband, Michael, of Linwood; a brother Maurice Drolet of Gulfport, MS; a sister, Pauline Demers of Columbia, TN; three grandchildren, Sean McIntyre, Erin McIntyre and Courtney Goodwin, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Monday May 1, 2017, from 4-7 p.m., in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Linwood.

Burial will be private at a later date.
