Lincoln resident arrested for Cumberland break-in

Man charged with assault, breaking and entering

CUMBERLAND/LINCOLN - A Lincoln man has been arrested for breaking into a Cumberland home and assaulting the homeowner.

Cumberland Police said Robert Piasecki, 33, is charged with breaking and entering into a home on Kent Street last Friday, May 12, and assaulting the homeowner, a man in his late 50s.

According to police, around 8:42 a.m. last Friday, Piasecki broke into the Kent Street home. Nearby Joseph L. McCourt Middle School was ordered to go into a lockdown, which was lifted later that morning.

On Wednesday, May 17, Piasecki was arraigned at the Cumberland Police Department before a bail commissioner, was held without bail and later sent to the ACI in Cranston.

The Lincoln resident was scheduled to be formally arraigned in District Court Thursday morning, police said.
