Norman Wilby – Woonsocket

Norman Wilby, 87, of Woonsocket, died March 1, 2017, in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Ida (Lucchesi) Wilby. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Arthur and Aldea (San Souci) Wilby.

Mr. Wilby worked 10 years as a Quality Control Inspector for the former Mine Safety, Esmond, retiring in 1993. He was a communicant of St. Agatha's Church.

He is survived by two stepdaughters, Gail Chauvin and her husband, Roger, of Cumberland and Punta Gorda, Fla., and Kathleen Masnyk and her husband, Ores, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, Langdon Wilby, of Hollywood, Fla.; four step-grandchildren and six step-great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur and Thomas Wilby, Anita Beauimer and Edith Cluen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, at 10 a.m., in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery on Farm St., Blackstone. Calling hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
