Doris Laban – Woonsocket

Doris (Lataille) Laban, 94, a long time resident of Social Street, Woonsocket, passed away June 25, 2017, in The Holiday Retirement Home in Lincoln, where she has lived since 2005. She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late George Laban. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Aurora (Cote) Lataille.

Doris worked as a homemaker for most of her life, and worked in the Lippit Worsted Mills for a short time. She loved playing bingo and making puzzles in her room at the Holiday. She was also an active volunteer. She was a member of All Saints Parish and All Saints Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Karen (Pouliot) Grilli of Millville, Mass.; her grandson, Jeffrey Pouliot, of Blue Bell, Pa.; and her four great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jenna Grilli, and Carson and Alyssa Pouliot. She was the mother of the late Judith Pouliot, and the sister of the late Aldor, Roland, Maurice, Blanche, and Yvonne Lataille, and Estelle Latimore.

Her funeral will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, at 9 a.m., from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Community Church, 323 Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, Mass. Calling hours are Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
