BURRILLVILLE – Officials from the Rhode Island Department of Health’s WISEWOMAN program have announced that WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care, a nonprofit health center with locations in Pascoag, North Scituate, Foster, and North Kingstown, was the winner of the WISEWOMAN challenge, a competition that included Community Health Centers and the R.I. Free Clinic.

The WISEWOMAN program provides free screening for heart disease, free lab work and test results for cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, free health coaching in nutrition, physical activity, and quitting smoking, free fitness and weight loss programs, and free glucose strips for women with diabetes.

Participating health centers were challenged with completing and submitting at least 36 screenings during the period of Jan. 30 through June 2, 2017. WellOne achieved 41 screenings which was the greatest number of screenings of all sites.

WellOne’s program coordinators, Lisa Schiffman and Nicole Masse, accepted the award at the WISEWOMAN Collaborative Meeting held June 2.
