Bernard S. Geary – Scituate

Bernard S. Geary, 74, a 65-year resident of North Scituate, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Rohrig) Geary. Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Bernard and Mary E. (Hopkins) Geary.

Mr. Geary was a custodian for the Scituate School Department for 22 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Providence and he was a life member of the Hamilton Chapter, Order of DeMolay, a member of the National Rifle Association, a former member of the Glocester Light Infantry Company and Hopkins Mills Grange. He was also a member of Pine Tree Gun Club in Foster and a strong member of the Republican Tea Party.

He played the fiddle with the R.I. Old Time Fiddler’s and the Old Timey Band and enjoyed volunteering and playing at local nursing homes. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by relatives and friends.

Visitation in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike (Rt.44) Greenville, is Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, from 10-11 a.m., with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
