Empowerment Factory will unveil walking path

PAWTUCKET – The Empowerment Factory will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 17, for the first of multiple walking paths around Central Falls and Pawtucket called the “Baldwin Loop.” Organizers will also be unveiling the nonprofit’s community art mural, created with the students of the Baldwin Elementary School. The four mural panels will be permanently displayed at Ama’s Variety and Mini Mart on Main Street and focus on healthy habits, with positive messaging written in both English and Spanish.

The Baldwin Loop is a 2-mile walking path initiative meant to promote healthy living in the Woodlawn community in an easy way.

This is the first walking path of a series that will be distributed around Pawtucket. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is for families and pets and will be followed by multiple activities, entertainment, and games for adults and children of all ages. The event will run from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 17 at Baldwin.

Volunteers are needed for the event. Contact gail@empowermentfactory.org or 401-365-1010.
