Angelo Sette – Cumberland

Angelo Sette, 86, of Cumberland, passed away Oct. 21 at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Lolly (DeCicco) Sette.

Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Stephen and Celeste (Landolfo) Sette. He resided in Cumberland for the past 55 years.

Mr. Sette was a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was also a Purple Heart recipient and was recently honored as a participant of the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.

Angelo was a purchasing agent for various display manufacturing companies in the area for over 40 years.

He was a communicant of the St. Jude Parish, Lincoln. He was a past grand knight of St. Thomas Council, Knights of Columbus and a member of the Korean War Veterans Association. He enjoyed time in his garden, attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events, and was an avid New England Patriots and Providence College Basketball fan. Most of all he loved cooking for his family.

He leaves his children, Steven Sette and his wife, Mary, of Glocester, Barbara Norris and her husband, Donald, of Cumberland; his five grandchildren, Alyssa Woulfe, Mikayla Printer, Donald Norris III, David Norris and Hannah Sette; his five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gene Sette.

A celebration of his life was held Oct. 27 from the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. A mass of Christian was held at St. Jude Church, Front Street, Lincoln. Burial followed in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
