Saylesville Elementary hosts Highlander Fuse leader visit

LINCOLN – Saylesville Elementary School hosted a Highlander Institute Fuse leader visit recently, during which teachers demonstrated to school principals throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts how they integrate blended learning in their classrooms.

Principals visited Saylesville classrooms to observe how teachers incorporate blended learning techniques they’ve learned through a Highlander Institute coach, and provided each of their students with various learning stations that supported students’ learning paces during the session, according to a release. During the lesson, students worked in small group stations, based on each student’s learning path, the release said.

Stations included a teacher-led area where instructors worked with a small group of students, supporting their individual needs, a collaboration station for students to work together and a tech area where students worked independently with computer-based learning programs selected by the educator.

After the classroom visits, according to the release, teachers and principals participated in a panel discussion to identify best methods and necessary resources.
