Gridiron Club’s
annual MVP
Night is Dec. 13

PROVIDENCE – The Providence Gridiron Club will host its annual MVP Night, an evening honoring the offensive and defensive Most Valuable Players from all the football-playing high schools in the state, on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Quonset “O” Club on 200 Lt. Brown Road in North Kingstown.

The Providence Gridiron Club has been promoting football in the state for 72 years, and this year, two Aquidneck Island prep schools have been added to the mix, Portsmouth Abbey and St. George’s School of Middletown. They will now be included in all the Gridiron Club’s functions.

The choices for MVPs from all schools will be feted to a complimentary dinner of salad, macaroni, chicken with the fixings, and dessert and coffee. Meal tickets for family, friends and fans will be $30. It is hoped that all those with ties to these outstanding players will attend to watch them receive their awards as among the top high school players in Rhode Island.

The MVP Night will culminate the activities for 2017, and the club’s final event for the 2017-18 school year will be its annual Awards Night, which will take place in April.
