Jonathan Tedford Partington, 28, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 23, 2017, in Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. He was the son of Scott J. and Rebecca Tedford Partington.

A Johnson & Wales University graduate, Class of 2013, Jonathan was born in Woonsocket and was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.

Jon graduated from Cumberland High School, Class of 2008, and was a member of the Cumberland Clippers Hockey Team, winners of the 2008 Division II Championships. His hockey buddies fondly referred to him as “Pontiac.”. Jon loved his Patriots and Celtics and was definitely the most rabid LSU Tiger fan in New England.

Jon’s degree in sports and events management served as a capstone to a youth spent in the company of his grandfather Providence Public Safety Commissioner and former Federal Marshal for the State of Rhode Island, the late John J. Partington. Constant companions, Jonathan and “Bully” shared a special grandfather-grandson bond. Together, they could be seen about town making their daily rounds in the little white bug.

He was the grandson of the late John J. and Helen (Douville) Partington of Cumberland and his maternal grandfather, the late Toy Tedford of Mississippi.
