Gloria E. Tomasso – Lincoln

Gloria E. (Petrucci) Tomasso, 85, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully, at midnight, on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ludovico “Lou” Tomasso Jr. Born in Federal Hill, Providence, she was a daughter of the late Domenico “Tom” and Maria P. (DelSesto) Petrucci.

Gloria was the school clerk for the Orlo Avenue School and Thompson School in East Providence for 24 years before retiring. She was a very active member of the Opera Guild, Opera Providence, Italian American Historical Society, Italo American Club of R.I., and a Girl Scout leader. An avid fan of the New York Yankees and Frank Sinatra, Gloria also loved to travel, having been to Las Vegas 52 times. She was an active communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Church.

She is survived by her two daughters Diane Wenckelium and her husband, John, and Karen Iacobbo and her husband, Michael; dear sister Marie Rozzero of Narragansett; godmother of Paul Faella and Christine MacClure. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and their families, especially Linda and Richard, Donald and Elaine, John and Virginia, Steve and Mary, Grace, Cynthia and Rick, Jacqueline, Bob and Pat and the late Richard, Arthur and Annette.

Her funeral will be held from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, on Friday, Dec. 29, at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave, East Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m.
