John M. Conway – Cumberland

John M. Conway, 78, formerly of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Mary “Betty” (Cote) Conway for 56 years. 

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William and Anna (Connelly) Conway. 

John was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked as a lineman for Blackstone Valley Electric for 37 years, retiring in 2000. A longtime resident of Cumberland, John and his wife moved to New Hampshire in 2013. John was a man of Catholic faith and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, rising to the level of Fourth Degree in 2015.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa Mastin and her husband, Joseph, and Michaela Conway; one brother, James Conway; three sisters, Mary Walsh, Anna Egan, and Jackie Allen; and three grandchildren, Delaney, Brayden, and Ainsley Mastin. He was the father of the late Sean Conway, and brother of the late Barbara, William, and Thomas Conway. 

His funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 9 a.m., from the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with Military Honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday, Jan 26., from 4 to 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
