Northern Rhode Island could see a foot of snow or more as another nor'easter slams the region Tuesday.

The National Weather Service is predicting that 14 to 18 inches of snow or more could fall on northern Rhode Island.

Snow began early Tuesday morning and is expected to last through much of the day. Snow should taper off late in the afternoon.

Travel could be very difficult to near impossible throughout, including during the Tuesday morning commute. Strong winds are also possible, with a chance for downed limbs.

Residents in the northern part of the state have already dealt with two strong storms over the past two weeks, both bringing widespread power outages.
