John R. Fox – Blackstone

John R. Fox, 90, of Blackstone, passed away on March 21, 2018, at the Landmark Medical Center after a long illness.

A Blackstone resident for many years, he leaves his loving wife, Gloria (Tancrede) Fox. He was born in Boston, a son of the late James & Lillian (Hart) Fox.

Educated in Boston, John was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a former Metropolitan Commission police officer and a retired inspector at the Massachusetts Alcohol and Beverage Commission.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his brothers, Frederick of Hanover, Mass.; Gerald of Norwood, Mass., and Cape Coral, Fla.; and Edward Fox of Blackstone. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Francis Fox.

His funeral will be held Monday, March 26, at 9 a.m., from the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in St. Paul Church in Blackstone. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 24, from 4 to 7 p.m.
