Albert J. LaPorte Jr. – Lincoln

Albert J. LaPorte Jr., 70, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, April 22, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Jean (Bertozzi) LaPorte.

Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Albert and Lillian (Archambault) LaPorte. He resided in Lincoln for the past 40 years, previously residing in Cumberland.

Mr. LaPorte was a United States Army, Vietnam War veteran stationed in Germany.

Following his service to our country, he became a master electrician, working for Electric Boat, Director Shipyard, as well as Elco Electric.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife. He was an avid gun enthusiast.

Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Brett LaPorte and his wife, Stephanie, of Cranston; his brothers, Louis LaPorte, Jerry LaPorte, Roland LaPorte and Ronald LaPorte.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to join in Al's Life Celebration which will be held with visitation on Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m., and continues on Friday, April 27, 2018, with a prayer service at 11 a.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. Military honors will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, R.I. Chapter, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, RI 02886.
