William H. Santoro – Boynton Beach, Fla.

Two month anniversary: William H. Santoro, 82, died suddenly March 2, 2018, in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was the devoted husband of Rita J. (Gelardi) Santoro. They had been married for 58 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Rossi) Santoro. He owned and operated J. Santoro Sand and Gravel Inc. until his retirement. While retired, he owned Business Secretarial Services and worked as a real estate developer. He had been a member of the Atlantis Country Club in Atlantis, Fla.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his three children, Susan M. Bennett and her husband, Noel, of North Providence, William H. Santoro Jr. and his wife, Doreen, of Greenville, and Lisa A. Gomes of North Providence, as well as his four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Santoro, Nicholas Bennett and Haley Gomes. He is predeceased by siblings, Ernest Santoro, Emily Santangelo, Eva Bergantini, Julia Silvestri, Joseph Santoro Jr., and Elena Galuppi.

His funeral was held Monday, March 5, at 9 a.m., from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44, at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston.
