Pawtucket police make arrest in hit-and-run

PAWTUCKET – A suspect wanted in a March 30 hit-and-run incident has been arrested after turning himself in.

According to police, Arthur Genest, 58, of 154 Benedict St., turned himself in Monday morning. He was charged with duty to stop in accident resulting in personal injury and will be arraigned Wednesday in Sixth District Court.

On March 30, Officer Julianne Borsari began an investigation into the hit-and-run of a teen on Walcott Street. Borsari was able to locate video of the incident, which showed that a black van hit the female, injuring her, and drove off. The video was posted on the department’s Facebook page and various news outlets covered the story. After numerous tips received from the public, Borsari was able to identify the driver of the vehicle as Genest.
