Richard A. Whitehouse – Uxbridge, Mass.

Richard A. Whitehouse, 85, of Uxbridge, Mass., formerly of Cumberland, R.I., passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

Richard was born February 27, 1933, in Woonsocket, R.I., to George and Stella (Breault) Whitehouse. He graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1950, served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and received a degree from Dean College in 1955. On July 27, 1954, he married the former Lucille R. McGee of Woonsocket. Richard owned and operated Whitehouse Properties buying and managing real estate in the greater Rhode Island area.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; their three children Nancy L. Whitehouse and her husband, Glenn Brodeur, of Franklin, Mass., James O. Whitehouse of Uxbridge, Mass., and Richard G. Whitehouse of Glocester, R.I.; two grandchildren, James M. Amicarella and his wife, Jessica, of Windsor, Colo., Courey A. Laube and her husband, Aaron, of Woodbury, Minn.; and his four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and his older brother, Daniel R. Whitehouse, and is survived by his younger brother, Paul A. Whitehouse, and his wife, Pauline, of Florida.

Our world will never be the same, and it is not because he is gone; it is because he lived. He was an ordinary man who led an extraordinary life.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 11, at St. Mary Parish, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge, MA 01569.

Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
