Dube, Bienvenue, Dubois lead locals at Reviver Challenge

LINCOLN – West Warwick’s Dale Cullen foiled North Smithfield High junior Jarrod Dube’s bid to repeat as the champion of the Reviver Challenge on Saturday, June 2, on the MacColl YMCA grounds, as Cullen won the three-mile obstacle race in a time of 20:08 that nipped Dube by a second.

The popular 8th-annual event, which contained a dozen obstacles, saw 262 participants complete the course. The proceeds from the event again went toward Mayan families located in the indigenous region of Guatemala, Kids in the Canyon, and Evan’s Crew.

Rounding out the top five finishers were Aidan Bienvenue, a 6th-grade student at North Smithfield Middle School, took third place in a time of 21:06; Jeremy Roe, a 6th-grader at Ponaganset Middle School, who finished fourth in 21:13, and North Smithfield High freshman Owen Dubois, who was fifth in 21:37.
