Armando Tenreiro – Cumberland

Armando Tenreiro, 74, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Elza J. (Albuquerque) Tenreiro.

Born in Torre de Tavares, Portugal, he was the son of the late Maria Rosa Correia. He came to this country in 1968, settling in Pawtucket. He resided in Cumberland for the past 38 years.

Mr. Tenreiro was the owner of Gold Star Construction for many years until his retirement.

Armando was a communicant of the Our Lady of Fatima Church. He was a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana. He loved to play cards and bocce with his friends. Among his many interests, he enjoyed watching soccer and hockey, but most of all he loved his family gatherings. He was a passionate Sporting Soccer fan and Boston Bruins fan. He was a respected business man and was a friend to many.

He now enjoys the reunion with his beloved wife, but leaves his children, Rosa Furtado, and George Tenreiro and his wife, Vera, all of Cumberland; his four grandchildren, AJ Furtado, Amanda Furtado, Taylor Tenreiro and Abigail Tenreiro; his great-grandson Anthony Luis Furtado; his siblings, Odete Albuquerque, Aurora Albuquerque, Delfina Guedes, Ilda Sherman, Tony Correia, Isabel DosSantos and Joe Correia; as well as several nieces nephews, and godchildren.

Family and friends are invited to Armando's Life Celebration to be held with visiting hours on Thursday, June 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., and continue on Friday, June 22, at 9 a.m., from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
