Paul Giguere – Blackstone

Paul Giguere, 87, of Blackstone, Mass., passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018, at Milford Regional Medical Center with loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband for 61 years of Huguette (Jarret) Giguere. He was born in Blackstone, Mass., on November 11, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Elveda (Dalpe) Giguere.

He was the brother of Herve Giguere and his wife, Helen, of Woonsocket, R.I., Jeannette Giguere of Woonosocket, and the late Gerald Giguere and Reynald Giguere. He leaves many nieces and nephews.

A resident of Blackstone for 20 years formerly of San Carlos, Calif., for 35 years, he was raised in Blackstone and was a graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy and then attended Butera School of Art in Boston for two years. Paul was a commercial artist for commercial sign companies.

He was a United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve Veteran serving during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal.

He was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Blackstone. Paul was a talented fine detail artist especially making clocks and various wooden crafts and was an avid photographer. Devoted to his family, Paul will be greatly missed.

His funeral will be held on Friday, July 6, at 9 a.m., from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, Mass., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, Mass. Interment will follow with military honors at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass. Visiting hours are on Thursday, July 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
