Celebrate Land Trust Days at Borders Farm

FOSTER – Borders Farm, 31 North Road, will host a celebration of Rhode Island Land Trust Days on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will include a bluegrass concert with Saddle Up the Chicken, a yard and barn Sale, and guided farmhouse and walking tours. Borders Farm was settled in the 1760s and has been continuously farmed for 250 years. The farm, which is on the National Historic Register, encompasses more than 200 acres on both sides of North Road.

House tours will be held at 10 and 11 a.m. and noon. Guides will be leading walks of the Borders Farm property, which includes two barns, a 19th-century farmhouse, several ponds and pastures, old stone walls, livestock, and substantial wooded areas.

The public is welcome to bring a picnic, blanket and/or lawn chairs and spread out under the shady trees.
