Mancini Center will hold apple pie contest Tuesday

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The North Providence Mancini Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the following activities.

In-Sight Support Group will return to the center on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The group brings together people who are living with vision loss to help them find ways to overcome the isolation, loneliness, and frustration that they may be feeling. A “Women’s Health Issues” presentation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 10:30 a.m. Meet two physicians from Women & Infants Hospital as they discuss unique health conditions while giving tips to live a healthier life. 

There will be an apple pie baking contest on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Pies must be submitted for judging on Tuesday, Sept. 18, by 10 a.m. Pies will be judged on appearance, best tasting, best crust, and best filling. Awards will be given for first, second and third place.

The center is seeking volunteers for its Tuesday Evening Bingo event to sell admission packets and specials from 5 to 6 p.m. Callers are also needed as well as servers during intermission. To volunteer, call 401-231-0742.
