Delta Dental of R.I. provides grants to area clinics

PROVIDENCE – Delta Dental of Rhode Island has announced a series of major gifts totaling more than $1.5 million to support programs, clinics and professionals working to provide critical oral health care to those most in need across Rhode Island.

The grants, made through the Delta Dental of Rhode Island Fund at the Rhode Island Foundation, are a significant investment in the state’s critical oral health care infrastructure. During the last decade, Delta Dental of Rhode Island has donated more than $8 million to support a wide range of organizations and causes that help Rhode Islanders.

Delta Dental of Rhode Island’s latest round of grantees include Pawtucket’s Blackstone Valley Community Health Care, Providence Community Health Centers, Rhode Island Free Clinic, Rhode Island Kids Count, Rhode Island Mission of Mercy, and Thundermist Health Center.

Raymond J. Lavoie, executive director of Blackstone Valley Community Health Care, credited Delta Dental of Rhode Island with supporting the purchase of dental equipment for eight dental operatories in its new Central Falls facility.
