Police seek man for stealing coins from Salvation Army

NORTH PROVIDENCE – Police are searching for a man responsible for stealing coins from the Smith Street Salvation Army store.

On Nov. 4, around 9:45 p.m., the North Providence Police Department was notified of a breaking and entering that occurred at the Salvation Army, 1895 Smith St. Officers arrived and noticed that the glass on the front door had been smashed. Officers found that two cash registers, a candy machine and a gumball machine were broken on the floor.

A representative for Salvation Army arrived a short time later. An inventory was done and the only items reported taken was an undetermined amount of change (coins) from the candy and gumball machines.

The representative checked the interior surveillance cameras and was able to collect several photographs of the suspect responsible for the crime. The suspect is pictured above and below.
