Marie T. Gorman – Lincoln

Marie T. Gorman, 87, of Lincoln, passed away November 22, 2018, at home. She was the wife of the late Edward M. Gorman.

Born in Cumberland, the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Miltie K. (Kiley) Burns, she had lived in Lincoln since 1959.

In her earlier years, she was employed as a switchboard operator for the Madison Company. She later served as a volunteer coordinator for Lincoln Animal Shelter for 25 years. Marie then began her own volunteer organization call Lincoln Friends of Animals which had the goal of helping local low income residents provide veterinary care for their pets.

She is survived by her son, Sean E. Gorman, and his wife, Andrea, of Lincoln; grandson Aidan M. Gorman also of Lincoln; longtime friend Joyce Fontaine and her beloved cat Rosie. She was the sister of the late John K. Burns.

A Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited, will be celebrated on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln.
