Debra J. Kern – Cumberland

Debra J. Kern, 55, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Miriam Hospital, Providence, surrounded by her loving family after a brief and courageous fight with cancer. She was the beloved wife and soulmate of Robert J. Kern.

Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of Edmund Paquette of Cumberland and the late Anita (Gauvin) Paquette. She was a lifelong resident of Cumberland. Mrs. Kern was a 1981 graduate of Cumberland High School.

Most recently, she was the co-owner and vice president for the family business Jahns Metal Craft in Cumberland. She was previously employed by Dr. Vinciguerra's Pediatric Dental office in North Attleboro, Mass., for many years.

Debra was dedicated to her family and the lives of her husband, parents, children, and siblings. Those who know her will miss her caring and loving soul, vibrant personality, and endless caregiving and love. She enjoyed an active life that included, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, but mostly enjoyed the simple things in life including dinner with friends, and time spent with family.

In addition to her husband and father, she leaves her two children Gregory Kern of Cumberland and Jillian Kern of Cumberland; her siblings, Linda Hebert (Nick) of Pawtucket; Cheryl Garland (Rick), Donna Dearden, Bruce Paquette (Barbara) and her sister-in-law, Silvia Jette, all of Cumberland; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Debra's Life Celebration to be held with visiting hours on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m., and continue on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 11 a.m., in the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland, followed by a prayer service at noon. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
