Alfred L. Ducharme – Bellingham, Mass.

Alfred L. Ducharme, 72, of Bellingham, Mass., passed away peacefully Thursday, January 24, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Judith (McCreadie) Ducharme and they had been married for the past 49 years.

Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he was the son of the late Leo and Madeleine (Gaboury) Ducharme. He resided in Bellingham for most of his life.

Alfred was a graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy, class of 1964. Mr. Ducharme was a United States Air Force veteran during the Vietnam era.

"Fred" as he was affectionately known by his friends and family, spent the majority of his career working as a computer repair technician. Later in life, he found joy working as a store manager at Cumberland Farms where he would meet and greet his customers each morning with a smile. Fred was also a passionate and dedicated New England sports fan, especially enjoying the Patriots.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Tina D.. Reynolds of Falls Church, Va., Timothy A. Ducharme of Cumberland, R.I., and Tammy L. Walden of Mansfield, Mass.; his siblings, Jeanne Kopicki of Florida, Pauline Nadeau of North Providence, R.I., and Roger Ducharme of Johnston, R.I.; his eight grandchildren, Andrew, Alyson, Kyle, Blake, Nolan, Brady, Ethan and Hunter; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leo H. Ducharme and George Ducharme.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Alfred's Life Celebration to be held Thursday, January 31, 2019, with Visiting Hours from 5 to 8 p.m., and continue on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the St. Blaise Church, 1158 Main Street, Bellingham, MA at 10 a.m.
