Blackstone Library announces adult programs

BLACKSTONE – The Blackstone Public Library, 86 Main St., announces the following adult programs.

• On Saturday, Feb. 9, from noon to 2 p.m., celebrate the launch of “Our Universe, Our Faith,” a collection of poems and other works by New England poet Richard A. Ryan. Ryan is a member of the Blackstone Historical Commission and curator of the Blackstone Historic Museum in Massachusetts. In 2007, he was honored by the Board of Selectmen and awarded the title, Blackstone’s Poet Laureate. In 2018, Ryan received a Certificate of Appreciation for his contributions to the ongoing fight against hatred and intolerance in America. His name was added to The Wall of Tolerance in the Civil Rights Memorial Center in Montgomery, Ala. Registration is requested, but not required.

• Author Katherine Bradford will discuss the writing process on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 6:30 p.m. Bradford is the author of “Bones Among the Leaves,” and will discuss the writing process for this novel, as well as other writing related experiences she has had over the years. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the program. Registration is required.

• A seed swap with Blackstone Valley Veggie Gardens will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. Kate and Eric from Blackstone Valley Veggie Gardens will have hundreds of different types of seeds available. Drop-ins are welcome. Bring your own seeds to trade.
