Pawtucket announces new round of arts grants

PAWTUCKET – The city of Pawtucket announces the availability of arts grants to support and expand arts and cultural activities in the city and to help nonprofit art groups pay operational expenses.

Grants are available to local artists and nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to community enrichment.

Arts Panel Grant awards of up to $1,000 are determined by the Pawtucket Arts Review Panel based on the project’s artistic merit, potential for cultural and community connections, and the project’s clarity and achievability.

Applicants are encouraged to align their proposed project with the annual Pawtucket Arts Festival scheduled for September 2019, but this is not a requirement for funding eligibility. Applicants are also encouraged to highlight how their project or performance will enhance the Arts Festival as an inclusionary celebration of culture in Pawtucket.

Successful applicants are reimbursed upon the completion of the project.

Grant applications are also being accepted for organizational support funding for Pawtucket-based 501(C)3 arts organizations that provide year-round public arts programming. This may include performances, art exhibitions, music and other ongoing art activities at a Pawtucket venue.

Applications for these two grant programs, due April 26, are now available at the Department of Planning & Redevelopment, located on the first floor of Pawtucket City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Ave., or online at www.pawtucketri.com/arts .
