KBVB hosts Tree Hugger Tuesday events

PAWTUCKET – Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful will host a series of Tree Hugger Tuesday events, designed as a cleanup meet-up. These will be short after-work litter cleanups, followed by a meet-up at the hosting business or restaurant for a complimentary beverage or light snack.

This program is geared toward adult volunteers.

Volunteer safety is a main concern. KBVB will supply safety vests, gloves, trash bags and litter pickers for all volunteers. These cleanups will also be limited to 10-15 participants and will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m., most times on Tuesday nights.

• Tuesday, April 16: Cleanup: Breakneck Hill Road, Lincoln. Meetup: The Lodge Pub & Eatery, 40 Breakneck Hill Road, Lincoln, for a beverage for all volunteers.

• Thursday, April 25: Cleanup: Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Meet-up: The Last Resort, 325 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, for a wine, beer or soda.

• Tuesday, April 30: Cleanup: Mendon Road/Martin Street, Cumberland. Meet-up: Davenport’s Restaurant, 1070 Mendon Road, Cumberland, coffee and dessert for volunteers.

• Tuesday, May 7: Cleanup: Downtown Pawtucket. Meet-up: The Guild, 461 Main St., Pawtucket, for a pint of beer or beverage.
