Daniels Farmstead will host Birds & Blooms event May 19

BLACKSTONE – The Daniels Farmstead Foundation Inc., 286 Mendon St., will open the season with a Birds & Blooms event on Sunday, May 19.

At 11 a.m., naturalists Kathy Barton and Beth Milke will lead a wildlife walk through the trails at Daniels. At 1 p.m., landscaper and naturalist John Root will present “Edible Perennial Gardening and Landscaping,” a 90-minute PowerPoint presentation in the 1850 barn.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Blackstone Cultural Council, supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Spring plants, annuals and perennials will be available for sale.

Farmers markets begin on July 7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and continue every Sunday through Sept. 29.
