Elizabeth Doderer – Cumberland

Elizabeth Doderer, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, at Hope Hospice in Providence. She was surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with her illness.

Betty was a very energetic and active person (for 92) who loved shopping and spending time with her many friends. Her friends meant everything to Betty and they did so many things together, including Betty picking them up and driving to Bingo every Sunday evening. Earlier in her life, Betty was an accomplished singer. She sang every Sunday at All Souls Church in Braintree, Mass., and achieved the opportunity to sing with Arthur Fiedler. Betty also stayed in touch with all her Braintree High School classmates from 1944 – she drove to the Cape to have lunch with them the first Wednesday of every month. Above all, Betty was a cat lover. She had many of them over the years and became a cat magnet – there wasn't one cat who could resist Betty.

Betty (best mom ever!) leaves behind two sons and a daughter, Richard Doderer, Skip Doderer and his wife, Cris, both of Cumberland, and Holly Liambis of Kingston, Ma. She also leaves a granddaughter, Katie Whitney and her husband Ames of Kingston.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., at RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Wrentham, Mass. A service will be held following at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter, Cedar Road, North Attleboro, MA. 02763.
