Mancini Center will hold Memorial Day celebration May 23

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The North Providence Mancini Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the following programs.

• A Memorial Day Celebration Luncheon and Live Musical Show will be held Thursday, May 23, from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will include an opening ceremony with the Northern Rhode Island Korean War Veterans. A musical show will be held at 1 p.m. with the Company Bees; enjoy music of the 1940s and songs of the Andrew Sisters. The luncheon begins at noon.

The cost is $3 per person. Open to members and nonmembers 55 and older. For reservations, call 401-231-0742, ext. 107.

• A Wheel of Fortune game will be presented by Maxine Hutchins of Right At Home on Tuesday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m.

• “Bird Brain For A Day” will be presented by “The Laughing Lady,” Louise Cadieux, on Wednesday, May 22, at 10 a.m.

• An Art Class Exhibit will be held Thursday, May 23, at 9 a.m. The NPMC painting and quilting class members will be showcasing their work.

• The Insight Support Group will meet Tuesday, May 21, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The group brings together people who are living with vision loss to help them find ways to overcome the isolation, loneliness, and frustration that they may be feeling. • A trip to the Newport Flower Show at Rosecliff Mansion will be held on Friday, June 21, departing at 9:30 a.m. and returning at approximately 4:30 p.m. The cost is $22 per person and includes admission to flower show.
