Cumberland’s Foley receives tennis honor at William Smith College

GENEVA, N.Y. – Cumberland’s Kate Foley, who is a junior on the William Smith College women’s tennis team, was recently named to this spring’s All-Liberty League team, as she and classmate Allie Perron received Honorable Mention recognition in doubles.

Foley and Perron led the Division III Herons with a 15-5 mark in doubles play, including a 7-3 record in their final 10 matches.

Earlier in the season, Foley and Perron were named the Liberty League’s Doubles Team of the Week. They also posted a crucial doubles win that helped the Herons edge the University of Rochester, 5-4. William Smith hadn’t beaten the Yellowjackets in Rochester since 1983.

Foley, who graduated from Mount Saint Charles Academy in 2016, was a two-time First-Team All-State tennis player with the Mounties.
