Scituate’s Cottam wraps up outstanding career with Simmons lacrosse team

WINTHROP, Mass. – Mallory Cottam, a 2015 graduate of Scituate High and a senior midfielder on the Simmons College women’s lacrosse team, recently wrapped up her outstanding collegiate career by earning GNAC (Great Northeast Athletic Conference) All-Conference Second-Team honors.

Cottam, who also played for the Sharks’ women’s soccer team, established herself as one of the best all-around players in the conference. She ranked among the top 20 players in the GNAC in draw controls (fourth with 85), ground balls (seventh with 54), goals (12th with 44), caused turnovers (12th with 25), points (13th with 58), and assists (18th with 14).

Cottam, who also received All-Conference Third-Team honors last season, wraps up her career as the school’s all-time leader in games played with 71. She also ranked second in ground balls (140) and draw controls (197), fifth in goals (117), sixth in points (141), and seventh in caused turnovers (61).
