Debroisse and Woonsocket Engineering Department recognized for Booth Pond Trail improvements

Michael Debroisse

WOONSOCKET – In celebration of Earth Day, Michael Debroisse, Superintendent of the Woonsocket Engineering Department, and his team, were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of their recent efforts to improve trail conditions in the Booth Pond Conservation Area within Woonsocket.

The certificate was given on behalf of Steven Desrosiers, Woonsocket resident and local conservation advocate, the North Smithfield Conservation Commission and the North Smithfield Land Trust. Two representatives from North Smithfield presented the certificate and thanked Debroisse and his team for their outstanding effort to remedy some long-standing problems existing on the trails and for demonstrating their stewardship of the property.

The recent accomplishments involved the challenging removal of an old truck wreckage, trash collection, and initiating action to curtail ATV use on the property.

The Town of North Smithfield and the North Smithfield Land Trust jointly own the abutting 42-acre conservation parcel, so improvements completed by Debroisse and his team on the Woonsocket side will result in a positive impact on the property’s overall attractiveness.
